The Tournament
The John Pirelli Lodge #1633 OSIA and the Societa Di Mutuo Soccorso Italiana of Dayton are pleased to be hosting the Bocce Classic XIV. This event is held annually to promote our Italian heritage and raise money for local charities. In past years, we have selected various local groups to participate in our event.

A minimum of 64 four-person teams will compete in a double elimination tournament. For teams that lose the first two games they play, there is a second single elimination consolation tournament played on Sunday. This assures all teams of at least 3 games. Over $7500 in prize money will be awarded to 20 teams. The tournament is open to men, women and adult-supervised children above the age of 12. There are no separate divisions. The entry fee for each team is $225. The fee includes event memorabilia and discounts on dinners.
Your entry fee may be deductible as a business expense only. A part of the over-all proceeds will be donated to charity.
Bocce Classic Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a member of the OSIA John Pirelli Lodge #1633 or their child or grandchild who will be attending an accredited college or university this coming fall.
Under the bylaws of the Societa Di Mutuo Soccorso Italiana, Kettering, Ohio and the Order Sons of Italy in America John Pirelli Lodge #1633 a nonprofit corporation and Fraternal Benefit Society, this scholarship is to help promote Liberty, Equality and Fraternity to the next generations of Americans of Italian descent. We believe that it is our duty to help educate our future leaders. By helping educate a person, we can in fact, help promote that individual as well as society as a whole. This scholarship will be awarded based upon the selection of the Bocce Classic Scholarship Committee. The scholaship rules and regulations are attached to the scholarship application.
