Fairborn Buick/Pontiac/GMC Repeats as Champions of Bocce Classic XIII
July 15th, 2007
It hasn’t happened in almost a decade, but Fairborn Buick/Pontiac/GMC stormed through the field at Bocce Classic XIII to capture back to back titles. First time winners in 2006, the team consisting of Brian, Fred, Andy and Danny came out of the winner’s bracket to defeat first time finalists Titlequest.
The weekend crowds were treated to great weather and the 2,500 or so spectators witnessed great bocce with teams from Canada, Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee and West Virginia staying in the hunt until very late in the tournament.
We’ll have more in depth information about the winners and tournament in the next few weeks. Next years tournament will be held on July 11-13, 2008. Plan on playing, sponsoring or attending. You’ll love the “Bocce Classic - this thing of ours”.

Record 77 Teams Playing for 2007 Title
July 2nd, 2007
A record 77 teams have entered this year’s Bocce Classic XIII. Teams from Illinois, West Virginia, Michigan and Canada join teams from Ohio in the three day tournament to begin on July 13th.
All entries will soon receive their playing schedules and other information about the tournament. You will also be able to view the tournament schedule online in the next day or so. Due to the large number of teams in this years tournament, we have returned to the 45 minute game times used until 2 years ago. The games will still be played to 14 points.
Practice begins on Monday evening, July 9th and instructions on how to schedule practices will be included in your team packages.
See you in two weeks and we thank all teams for their participation.

Sign Up Extended Until June 27th
June 12th, 2007
Due to the strong interest in this year’s tournament, The Bocce Classic Committee has decided to extend the entry time limit to 5PM on Wednesday June 27th. This date will not be changed again and is subject to the field not being filled up earlier. We will limit the field to the first 73 teams whose entries we receive.
So DON’T wait until the last minute. While the new date has been extended to give more teams a chance to enter, we have always been close to the 73 team limit.
Make sure that you include your $5 dinner tickets and payment with your entry as they will not be available after the entry is submitted at the player’s price.
The tournament starts in only 4 weeks. BE THERE!

2007 Bocce Classic Tournament Update
June 7th, 2007
As usual, Memorial Day marks the offical beginning of the push to get your teams signed up for the tournament. In the past 6 days, we have received more entries than in any year by the 7th of June. We also have commitments from groups fron Canada for 5-6 teams and two local companies that are promising to field 6 or more teams also.
So, it won’t take long to fill up the open slots to play. Due to the physical constraints of the number of courts and number of hours available, we will cut off entries at around 73 teams.
We now have teams from Michicgan, West Virginia, Tennessee and Canada that are making the trip for the most bocce fun you can have in the MidWest. We hope you’ll join us.
Remember, great dinners by Carraba’s Italian Grille and Outback Steakhouse are available for players at only $5.00. But this offer is ONLY good if the money accompanies your team entry sheet. After that, players will have to buy tickets at the regular price of $10. All of these proceeds from the meals go to charity,
